Dont jump right in and try to replicate the Python, just come out with the King in an excellent polish/blue 6 barrel configuration. The Anaconda also ships with Hogue rubber grips, which help dampen recoil. I mirror polished my Colt King Cobra 3" and did trigger/action job I believe the exact opposite to be true. Trigger pull is rated from the factory between 7- and 9-pounds in double-action, and 3- to 4-pounds in single-action. From the moment I found out that the Colt Cobra would be reintroduced and that there would be updates and changes made, I had a few questions running around in my head. They locked up well, but their finish was quite rough by comparison to the Python. The coroner testified that EITHER shot would have been fatal. A buddy bought a new Colt King Cobra 3" when they first came out. The trigger on this sample was perfect; I checked the pull on my Wheeler Digital Trigger Gauge, and the single-action breaks at just over 2 pounds, while the double-action is a consistent 7 pounds. The second shot entered at the base of the skull and ended in the soft palate in the mouth. The new Colt Cobra is actually an updated Detective Special with a fiber optic front sight.
